Ronald “Duck” Pace, 72

May 8, 1951 – February 16, 2024

Ronald “Duck” Pace, 72, resident of Ripley, departed this life, unexpectedly, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.



Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Pace will be at 2PM, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Hurt officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 5PM until 8PM at Ripley Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10AM until time of service.  Burial will follow in the Tippah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Pace was born May 8, 1951, at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS, to Luna Scott Pace of Baldwyn and the late Troy J. Pace.  He received his education from the Baldwyn Public School System and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1971 until 1973.  Mr. Pace worked for multiple trucking companies throughout his life as a car hauler and was known on his CB handle as “Duck”.

A Christian, Mr. Pace enjoyed the simple things in life.  A quiet man with a huge heart, he always enjoyed sharing time with his family, watching westerns and learning about history.  He was known as the master of the grill and always found a reason to celebrate many occasions, especially his granddaughter’s birthday every year.  He was a very dedicated father, “PaPaw” and friend that will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 48 years Jamie Brown Pace of Ripley, two daughters, Angela McKenzie, Lisa Cockrell Brown (Lonnie), both of Ripley, His mother, Luna Scott Pace of Baldwyn, one brother, Phillip “Petey” Pace (Tammy) of Corinth, one granddaughter, Paige McKenzie Morrison (Jon) of Ripley, four extended granddaughters, Samantha, Ashley, Amber, and Montana, two great grandchildren, Taegan and Boone Morrison, and seven extended great grandchildren.  Preceding him in death was one son, Scott Pace and his father, Troy J. Pace.
