Rose Mary Vignassie Cobb, 91

November 11, 1932 – June 22, 2024

Rose Mary Vignassie Cobb, known affectionately as Rose, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on November 11, 1932, in Pekin, Illinois, to Joseph Vignassie and Bessie Belser Vignassie.



Rose’s life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and her faith. She was a devoted wife to Quitman and beloved mother to her five sons. Rose’s role as a homemaker was one she cherished deeply, pouring her love and care into every aspect of her family’s life.

For over four decades, Rose was an active and dedicated member of the Ingomar Baptist Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life’s challenges and joys. She was a friend to many within her church community and will be remembered for her kind spirit and unwavering support.

Rose’s creativity knew no bounds. She had an exceptional talent for needlework and embroidery, often creating beautiful pieces that were a testament to her skill and patience. Her love for crafting extended to her unique ability to transform sea shells and driftwood into intricate works of art, each piece a reflection of her imaginative spirit.

Those who knew Rose would describe her as creative, friendly, and faith-filled. She approached every person and situation with an open heart and mind, making friends effortlessly and leaving a lasting impression on those she met. Her warmth and generosity were as boundless as her creativity, and her presence was a comfort to all.

As we bid farewell to Rose, we celebrate her life and the countless ways she enriched the lives of others. She was a guiding light and source of strength, her legacy living on in the love she shared and the memories cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Services to honor Rose’s life will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm at United Funeral Service with Dr. Terry Cutrer officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time. Burial will be at Ingomar Cemetery.

He memory will be held in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness and grace.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Cobb (Marcia), Steve Cobb (Diana); numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Quitman Cobb, Jr; hers three sons, Roger, Wayne, and Joseph Cobb; and two brothers, Bobby and Joseph Vignassie.
