Ruby Ragsdale, 86

Blue Springs – Ruby Frances Tate Ragsdale was born September 30, 1932 to Walter Basil Tate and Mary Louie Edgelle Kennedy in Center, MS. She married Gerald Denver Ragsdale on August 22, 1950, and they made their home in Memphis, TN and Southaven, MS until 1973, when they returned to Center community, where they remained until their respective deaths. Ruby departed this life on Sunday, May 5, 2019, leaving five children, fourteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Ola Jean Boyd and brother Walton Tate.

She is survived by her children Sheila ( James ) Lessel of Ecru, Gerald DeWayne ( Beth ) Ragdale of Center, Jerry ( Patty ) Ragsdale of Center, Vicki ( Owen ) Clark of Ecru, and Roger ( Teresa ) Ragsdale of Ecru, her sister Mary Voncile ( Katie ) Watson, and many friends and extended family members.

She was an active member of Parks Baptist Church. Ruby was beloved by all who knew her, and never met a stranger. Her infectious smile and loving nature warmed all those around her. She will be terribly missed.

Her visitation is Wednesday, May 8, 2019, 5:00 pm-8:00pm. at United with services May 9, 2019, Thursday 11:00am at United Funeral Service, New Albany, MS.
