Sandra Sullivan, 74

February 8, 1949  –  September 11, 2023

SHANNON – Sandra Kay Holland Sullivan met her Savior and reunited with her family in Glory Land on Monday, September 11, 2023 at North MS Medical Center following complications from heart surgery. She was 74. Sandra was the youngest child of 11 born to the Holland-Hester family in the Palmetto community. On February 8, 1949, the late Thomas McKinley Holland and Farra Mae Ivy Holland welcomed her into their large family. Sandra grew up in Palmetto and attended Shannon High School. She married the late Jerry Sullivan and, to this union was born two sons, Gary and Greg. San, as she was known to most of her family, spent much of her life as a store clerk where she was loved and admired by her customers. For the last almost three years, she has been the receptionist at Holland Funeral Directors since the death of her sister-in-law, Sadie Holland.



A lifelong member of the Christian faith, Sandra grew up in Oak Valley Christian Church, attended Verona Christian Church which her dad founded and was a longtime active member of Oak Ridge Christian Church in Tupelo. San was a loving, caring person, always considerate of others when she had burdens of her own to bear. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she will always be remembered as a great daughter, baby sister, mom, grandmother and a friend to mankind.

A celebration of life service for Sandra will be held at 1 PM Thursday, September 14, 2023, in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with her Pastor, Bro. Archie Taflinger officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM Wednesday evening, September 13, 2023, at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Lee Memorial Park. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming, where it will be archived.

Sandra is survived by her son, Greg Sullivan of Nettleton; her grandchildren, Justin Sullivan, Jade Sullivan, Jeri Sullivan, Emily Sullivan, Josh Sullivan, and Jason Sullivan and their families; a brother in law, John Wayne Burt; countless nieces, nephews and cousins on the Holland-Hester and Ivy sides. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Farra Mae Holland; her husband, Jerry Sullivan in 1993; her son, Gary, in 2010; and all 10 of her siblings, Evelyn H. Baldwin, Mary H. Homan, Julian Holland, Herschel Holland, Herbert Holland, Bud Hester, Joanne Hester Woods, Mildred H Burt, J.C. Holland, and Leon Holland.
