Sara Ann Rutledge, 81

September 3, 1942  –  January 6, 2024

Tupelo- Mrs. Sara Ann Rutledge, 81, departed this life from North MS Medical Center in Tupelo on Saturday, January 6, 2024 after a brief illness. She was born in Indiana on September 3, 1942 to the late Irvin Muston and Beula Barker Muston. She moved to Tupelo from Avon, IN in 1973 and lived here the remainder of her life. Sara worked for many years as an echocardiogram technician for NMMC. A member of the Wildwood Baptist Church, Sara loved sewing and needlepoint. She was a supporter and volunteer of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, in support of education and treatment of the condition with which she lived most of her life. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.



She is survived by her husband, William Rutledge; sons William Rutledge (Winter) and Russell Rutledge (Renee); brothers, Ray Allen Muston (Linda) and Richard Muston; grandchildren, Ashley, Rori, Raven, and Piper. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Charlie, Don, Peggy, and Ada Muston.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, January 12, 2024 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors- Tupelo with Bro. Mike Sauvageot officiating. Visitation will be Friday only from 9AM- service time. Private burial will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.
