Sarah Frances McHan Stacy, 82

August 3, 1941 – January 30, 2024

Sarah Frances Stacy, 82, departed this life and entered into her eternal rest on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Sanctuary Hospice.
She was born on August 3, 1941. She was born in South Carolina, but always considered Ackerman, MS as her hometown. Her parents were Alvin Reed McHan and Willie Mae Collier McHan Blackwood. She married the love of her life on December 19, 1959.
She was a graduate of Ackerman High School. She worked many years at Futorian Furniture; serving as a supervisor for many years. She also worked at Swift Trucking until her retirement.
She loved gardening alongside her husband and working in the yard. She also spent many hours tending to her beautiful flowers.
She was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. During her years there, she served on different committees; served as a WMU leader for a few years; worked in the clothes closet; and was a Sunday school teacher for the Senior Adult Co-ed class until her health declined.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years; James Durward Stacy; her sons: Randy (Donna), and Jeff (Rose); four grandchildren: Josh Stacy (Shelley), Heather Stacy (Nevin), Matthew Stacy and Jonathan Stacy; and 3 great-grandchildren: Sarah Stacy, Elliott Stacy and Azriel Jayne. She is also survived by a host of neices and nephews that were very special to her.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. All will take place at United Funeral Service. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park.
