Sharron Johnson Washington, 58, transitioned on Monday, August 14, 2023, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN.



Sharron Johnson Washington was born on August 15, 1964, to the late Ester King, Jr., and late Classie Mae Johnson in Marshall County. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and later joined New Community Church in Holly Springs, MS.

Sharron attended the Central High School in Memphis, TN. She always had compassion for people, and she worked for many years as Certified Nursing Assistant in various healthcare settings to her health fail. Sharron was loved by so many friends and loved ones. She was one of the greatest fans of the Pittsburg Steelers. She also loved to watch Monday Night Wrestling. She loved to read and write poetry and to do puzzles. Sharron was always short on words; but she would not miss out on  family function. She did not say much but her smile indicated she was having fun.

Sharron departed her earthly home on August 14, 2023, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: A husband Michael Washington, Sr. 4 sons Michael Hill, Mareco Johnson, Michael Washington, Jr., and Brandon Burlison (Juanita) all of Memphis, TN. She had 2 daughters: Shaniece Washington and Shakayla House of Memphis, TN and her adopted granddaughter Ariel Brown of Holly Springs, MS. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren. She is survived by her mother Georgia King of Holly Springs, MS. She has 5 sisters: Regina Johnson of Memphis, TN. Andrea Hamm (Donald); Felecia Jones of Olive Branch, MS. Teresa Porter (Lajuane) and Chereda Daugherty (Shamon) of Southaven, MS. She is survived by only living grandmother Minister Beatrice King Davis. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special friend, Mae Wright. She was preceded in death by her father; Ester King, Jr.; mother Classie Mae Johnson-Wells; 2 brothers: Derrick Lynn Johnson and Lonnie Ester King, Sr.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2023,  11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis Street, Holly Springs, MS  38635

Services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church, 228 S.A. Phillips Drive, Red Banks, MS  38661

Burial will follow in the church cemetery
