Shirley Temple Roberson, 83

February 27, 1941 – March 10, 2024

Shirley Temple Roberson, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024, to join her hero, Ned Roberson. Shirley passed surrounded by loving family members in Jerseyville, IL.

She was born on February 27, 1941, in Potts Camp, MS to Mattie and Walter Brock. Shirley was happily married to Ned Roberson for over 50 years, only being separated by the death of Ned in 2009. Shirley and Ned were high school sweethearts. They often found a reason to go to study hall just to see each other (credit Aunt Fay).

Shirley was a devoted mother to Dennis, Keith, Bobby and Mark Roberson, grandmother to 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Shirley had four siblings: Joann Yarbrough, Ellie May Bedford, Stella Louise Brock and one deceased brother Bill Brock.

Shirley never met a stranger. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and her love for gospel music. During Shirley’s residents at Willow Rose Nursing Home, she received professional care from the entire staff.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon. This will be followed by a funeral service at United Funeral Home in New Albany, MS.
