Thunderstorm cell brings damages to New Albany/ edited
EDITED 2:15 pm union county schools will perform their Grease matinee at 2:30 pm
A thunderstorm system 20 miles or more wide struck Union County at approximately 12:30 pm Saturday October 26th.
Power outages are widespread throughout Union County. Considerable damage is also reported in Tupelo and elsewhere in Lee County.
Public safety officials told NAnewsweb at 1:00 pm that no personal injuries were yet known. But emergency workers are busy throughout the county.
Officials said a tree had fallen through a dwelling southeast of New Albany in rural Union County.

The Union County public schools’ performance of “Grease” at the Magnolia Civic Center has been canceled because of a power failure throughout downtown New Albany. It is not known whether the afternoon performance will be rescheduled.
