A New Albany Police Department (NAPD) officer on traffic patrol pulled over an automobile on Interstate 22 near the downtown New Albany exit (Exit 63) at around 4:30 p.m. Besides the driver there was one other passenger in the car.
NAPD officers discovered 21 pounds of what New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson called “high-grade marijuana” in the trunk of the car. Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested. The marijuana was seized as evidence and the car was impounded.
