Two area players among ten Tigers who obtained All-Conference Honors
JACKSON, Miss. – The Northeast Mississippi Community College football team recorded a lot of big numbers throughout the 2025 season and continued that trend with all-conference honors with 10 total players being recognized by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
All-MACCC First Team
Ryan McCall (Madison Central) ranked fifth in the MACCC in total tackles with 73 with an average of 8.1 tackles per game and ranked 4th in the conference in TFLs with 12.5 to go with 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one interception that he took back for 70 yards against Southwest Mississippi Community College. McCall recorded 10-plus tackles in three games with a 15-tackle performance at home against Northwest Mississippi Community College while getting 10 tackles against both East Mississippi Community College and Itawamba Community College.
Tyrese Cathey (Independence) ranked fourth in the MACCC in sacks with 6.5 on the 2025 season with seven TFLs and 25 total tackles on his sophomore year. He opened the season with two sacks against East Central Community College for a combined 15 yards and recorded another pair against Coahoma Community College in the Tigers’ 45-7 win.
JT Fagan (Florence, Ala.) helped the Northeast offense to its second most passing touchdowns in a single season with 15 on the year. A true brute on the offensive line, he was able to power the Tigers in close down situations with the best fourth down conversion percentage in the MACCC with a 78 percent success rate.
All-MACCC Second Team
JT Beasley (Saltillo) recorded the longest receiving touchdown in the MACCC in the 2025 season with his 95-yarder against East Mississippi for one of his three touchdowns on the year with 437 receiving yards on 26 receptions. Beasley reached 100-plus yards twice with his 95-yard touchdown against East Mississippi leading him to 123 total yards on the game. He concluded his sophomore season with 107 receiving yards and a touchdown against Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
Rickey Banks (Madison Central) ranked seventh in the MACCC in tackles with 70 on the season for an average of 7.8 per game which ranked eighth in the conference to go with seven TFLs, 1.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and one interception. Three times on the season Banks recorded double figure tackles with a season-high of 12 coming against East Mississippi with 11 against Southwest and 10 to wrap up the year against Copiah-Lincoln.
Brooks Wallis (Northwest Rankin) was one of only two freshmen for the Tigers to earn All-MACCC honors, Wallis recorded 84 receiving yards on the season on six receptions to average 14 yards per reception while recording his lone touchdown on the 2025 campaign against East Mississippi to help Northeast tie up the game with two minutes to go.
All-MACCC Honorable Mention
Qua Middlebrooks (Tupelo) was an absolute force for the Tigers’ offense in the 2025 season. The sophomore running back recorded 610 rushing yards with nine rushing touchdowns to go with 330 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns to make it 11 scores on the year.Middlebrooks eclipsed 100 rushing yards in rivalry week against nationally ranked Itawamba on the road to put up 102 yards and a touchdown to help the Tigers to a 41-14 win.
Alfred Washington (Pensacola, Fla.) was a crucial piece in the Tigers’ offensive success. A true protector of the quarterback, he helped Northeast to one of the best passing offenses in program history with quarterback Jeremiah Harrell recording the second most passing touchdowns in a single season. Able to shine in the biggest of moments, Washington also was able to lead the Tigers in close down situations with the best fourth down conversion percentage in the MACCC by making 14 of 18 attempts.
Tre’Marcus Webb (Montgomery, Ala.) was a top tier return specialist. He ranked first in the MACCC and second in the country in punt return yards with 271 on the season while also recording 12 tackles, one TFL, and an interception as a defensive back for Northeast. Webb had a multitude of big returns for the Tigers with three coming back for 50-plus yards, including a 64-yard return to the end zone against East Central to help clinch a win in week one.
Daniel Sherman (Northwest Rankin) ranked second in the conference in punt yards with 1,905 yards on 47 punts with 26 landing inside the 20-yard line, which ranked first. Multiple times on the year he was able to boot the ball for 50-plus yards down field with his longest punt of 62 yards coming against Holmes Community College with a 57-yard punt the following week against Northwest.
