Union County Fair emphasizes breast cancer awareness
Thursday night of the Fair was “A Fair Fight Against Breast Cancer” night.
Breast cancer awareness was the (hot pink) ticket at the Union County Fair Thursday evening. An evening for learning about breast cancer, honoring victims, survivors and caretakers and competing to raise funds for breast cancer awareness, and maybe even winning a prize.
One dollar of every ticket sold is going to a local charity to help pay for mammograms or help someone battling breast cancer. Local doctors and Baptist Hospital teamed up to provide funds to give prizes, including : a TV, Earth Grace bracelet and a YETI cooler.
Volunteers manning the Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County tent had pertinent information on the subject of preventing, detecting and treating breast cancer, which were provided by the hospital’s Center for Breast Health. Along with information, there were pink refreshments and lots of everyone’s favorite…free stuff.

- The “Pink Heals” firetruck tour was in town.
The “Pink Heals” tour was developed to bring fund raising back as it was intended in our hearts – to help one another without expecting anything in return! Their goal is to make sure that 100% of funds raised in a community stay in the community instead of being spent on salaries, benefits, etc.
