Virginia “Ginny” Carol Hoenig, 71

Virginia “Ginny” Carol Petersen Hoenig, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, departed this world on November 22, 2023, at the age of 71. She was born on July 11, 1952, in Illinois, to Donald Petersen and Carol Shell.

Ginny is survived by her devoted husband, Andrew Hoenig, and her siblings Valerie Petersen Fernandes, Vaughn Petersen, and Kenneth Petersen. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Matthew Randolph, her sister Victoria Petersen Briskey, and her brother Arthur Petersen..

Ginny was a woman of deep compassion and unwavering dedication to various causes. Throughout her life, she tirelessly supported animal rescue and support groups, veteran and USO organizations, and nature conservancy charities. Her commitment to these causes was a testament to her kind and generous spirit.

An avid reader with an incredible memory, Ginny’s intellectual curiosity knew no bounds. She cherished the written word, exploring the worlds within the pages of countless books. Her love for literature was matched only by her passion for cooking, cultivating beautiful plants, and spending cherished moments with her beloved shelties.

Ginny’s warm heart and nurturing nature touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and a tireless commitment to making the world a better place. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her grace.
