Wallace Bryant Bailey, 84
April 16, 1942 – May 25, 2026
Wallace went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 25, 2026, in Florida, surrounded by his family.
Wallace was born April 16, 1942 in Shelby, MS.
Wallace was the Plant Maintenance Supervisor for Douglas and Lomason in Cleveland, MS until its closing in 1996 then became the Physical Plant Director at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS until his retirement in 2006. After retirement Wallace moved to be near his son in Athens, AL and resided there until recently when he moved to Milton, FL where his son retired.
Wallace enjoyed all things mechanical and tinkering on his antique John Deere tractors, Whizzer gas powered bicycles, and antique cars. He was forever young at heart and still enjoyed riding these well into his 80’s.
He is survived by his son Michael Bailey (wife Sarah) of Milton, FL. He is also survived by his brother Warren Bailey of Olive Branch, MS, his sisters Laverne Grant of Pensacola, FL and Wanda Boegel of Madison, WI.
Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Cobb Bailey.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM in Glenfield Memorial Park in New Albany, MS
