Poolville murder story updated: victim, shooter identified.

Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards has identified the dead gunshot victim and the man accused of shooting him early Saturday afternoon in the Poolville community.
In the Union County jail charged with murder is Bobby Joe Cobb, age 28. No bond has been set.
The victim is Jeffrey Whitten, who died at the scene near County Road 51.
Edwards said Whitten’s body is being sent to the state medical examiner in Jackson for autopsy.
The sheriff said Cobb will be arraigned before a judge Monday morning in New Albany.

POOLVILLE SHOOTING: As of 6 pm, Saturday, Feb. 10, Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards said one man is dead and a suspected shooter is in custody.
The sheriff said the first report of the incident came to the 911 call center at around 1:30 pm. Edwards said the shooting, believed related to a domestic dispute, occurred near County Road 51 in the Poolville community of western Union County.
The deceased was reportedly shot multiple times. It is not believed that the victim had a firearm.
Sheriff Edwards said the suspect is being interviewed at this time and that the sheriff’s office is working with that of District Attorney Ben Creekmore.
