Section of Hwy. 30 being paved at night

Motorists in New Albany may want to avoid a section of Hwy. 30 West in town over the next three evenings.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation will have crews working from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through Thursday, Oct. 1

Hwy. 30 from Bankhead Street to in front of the Best Western hotel has been milled preparatory to being paved.

MDOT suggests that if you must drive in the area during those hours it would be good to use an alternate route to avoid possible road closures or delays.

MDOT always advises drivers to slow down and be on high alert for roadside crews and emergency responders.
