Jessie Wayne Shumpert, 70

September 9, 1955 – April 12, 2026

Jessie Wayne Shumpert was born on September 9, 1955, to the late Willie Bob Shumpert and Mary D. Shumpert. At a young age, he joined Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

In his younger years, he worked on the Hussey Sod farm until his health declined.

He leaves behind his wife, Linda Kay Shumpert; three sons, Michael Pounds, Eddie Pounds, and Timothy Pounds; and two sisters, Letitia Ligon and Janice Hollis (Alonza), both of Fulton, Mississippi.

He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law: Joeann Pounds, Joyce Hughes, Daisy Blair, Myra Mabry, Eunice Young, Maxine Shumpert, all of Fulton, Mississippi, and Corrine Shumpert, from Amory, Mississippi and Alma Shumpert of St. Louis, Missouri.

He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
