Judy Louise Conwill Johnson, 79
May 29, 1947 – July 31, 2026
Judy Louise Conwill Johnson, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Dogwood Assisted Living in New Albany.
Memorial services honoring Judy’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Leland Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour in the Memory Chapel.
Born on May 29, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee, Judy was the daughter of the late Walter Haze Conwill and Opal Louise Owen Conwill. She was a graduate of Treadwell High School and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Byhalia.
Judy and her beloved husband, Luther, were self-employed for more than 30 years before retiring together approximately 20 years ago. Judy adored Luther, and the two especially enjoyed spending evenings dancing with friends. She had a deep love for music, particularly gospel and classic country, and some of her favorite artists were George Strait and Vern Gosdin.
A woman of unwavering faith, Judy loved her church dearly. Above all, she treasured her family. Her grandchildren brought immeasurable joy to her life, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, warm smile, and the love she freely shared with those around her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two grandchildren, Erika Latch and Nicole Oliver; one stepdaughter, Leigh Ann Kingsley Potts (Mark) of Myrtle; one stepson, Chris Daniels of Pontotoc; and a host of extended family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther Daniels; her daughter, Tami DeeAnn Latch; and her brother, Victor Lynn Conwill.
New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care respectfully invites family and friends to share their memories and condolences with the Johnson family as they celebrate a life filled with love, faith, and treasured memories.
