Susan Swan Nester, 70

April 21, 1956 – October 6, 2026

Susan Swan Nester was born April 21, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Harold Swan and Beverly Ann Sorensen Swan.  She was also the stepdaughter of Shirley Swan.  Susan was the seventh of eight children, with two brothers and five sisters.

Susan spent much of her life as a homemaker. She especially enjoyed gardening and growing fresh vegetables and flowers. Over the years, she operated a produce stand, giving her an opportunity to share something she genuinely enjoyed with others. She appreciated working outdoors and the satisfaction that came from planting, tending, and harvesting what she grew.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Swan and Beverly Sorensen Swan; her stepmother, Shirley Swan; and her sisters, Lynetta Lee Dockendorf, Rickell Swan, and Diane Ruple.

She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Koehlert and Debra Helton; her brothers, Steven Swan and Raleigh Swan; her children, Jason (Kimberly) Flora, Jeremy (Ashleigh) Flora, Justin Flora, Crystal Fulgham Hood, and Alex Fulgham; thirteen grandchildren, and long- time partner, William “Pickle” Fulgham.

Susan will be remembered for the life she lived, her enjoyment of gardening, and the many years she spent cultivating and sharing what she grew.

No public services are planned at this time.  Associated Family Funeral Home is honored to serve Susan’s family during their time of loss.
