Marika “Chelle” Lyons, 40
October 8, 1986 – October 17, 2026
Marika Nichelle Lyons was born October 8, 1986, and gained her wings October 17, 2026. She was born to Brenda Lyons and Gary Montgomery in Mt. Vernon, New York.
She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and rededicated her life back to Christ in 2020 under the direction and leadership of Reverend Vernon Phifer at Second Baptist Church in Pontotoc, MS. She attended Second Baptist Church before her health began to decline and prevented her from attending.
She was a loving mother, a devoted daughter, a loyal sister, a caring aunt, the dearest cousin, niece, and friend. She was full of humor, laughter, and joy, and a true straight shooter. If you knew her, you knew love and laughter.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Miccah Nehemiah Lyons and Isaiah Trayveon Lyons; a bonus son, Dalton; and a bonus daughter, Dharby. Her memory is also cherished by her mother, Brenda Lyons and an honored father figure, Larry Kimble of Pontotoc, MS; her father Gary Montgomery of Belden, MS; five sisters, Darnethia “Shunn”, Brandy, Markisha, Dartanya, Tiernay, and one bonus sister, Dakota; six brothers, Rontae, Damien, Garrett, Jeworne, Shane, and Cory; her grandmother, Ada Lyons of New York; her grandmother, Mary Montgomery and her grandfather, Robert Montgomery of Belden, MS. She also leaves behind five aunts, Faylene Pulliam, Madie Powell, Lois Lewin, Nina Lyons, and Mary Berry; three uncles, Mashawn Simmons, Erskin Berry (Kate), Tyrone Walker, Kerry Montgomery, Timothy Montgomery, and Darryl Montgomery of Belden, MS.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Kerry Lyons; her uncles, Jeffery Lyons and Rush Berry; along with a host of other angels to greet her on the other side.
Chelle especially wants us to know that she loves us and she totally surrendered to God.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at Pontotoc Second Baptist Church, 189 North College Street, Pontotoc, MS. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Pontotoc Second Baptist Church, 189 North College Street, Pontotoc, MS.
