Born January 16, 1960, in Tippah County, Mr. Larry was one of thirteen children born to the late John Trammel and Therra Alice Hill Jackson. He was a graduate of Falkner High School and was married on June 21, 1985, to his beloved wife, Debbie Plaxico Jackson, who survives. Debbie was the love of his life and together for 37 years they enjoyed raising their two boys, Cole and Tyler, spoiling their grandchildren, and being around friends and family.

Mr. Larry was a valued employee with Hill Brothers Construction Company for over twenty years, before serving as Tippah County Road Manager for twenty years. He made an honest living out of doing what he loved which was hauling dirt. He found so much joy in hauling dirt, that most afternoons he would come home from work just to watch other people haul dirt on television. During his employment with the county, he became well acquainted with the folks of Tippah County, as he was a big people person and had a charming personality. Mr. Larry was a true southern gentleman, always greeting folks with a strong handshake, holding the door open for others, and willing to help anyone he could.

A member of Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Mr. Larry’s favorites pastimes included woodworking and sports, especially Ole Miss football. Above all his greatest passion came from his family. He always looked forward to family dinners at their home and attending family get togethers around the holidays. He loved being dad to his sons, but he delighted and counted it pure joy to be “Pop Pop” to his two grandchildren, Addie and Clark. They were his pride and joy, as he spoiled them constantly and doted on them at every opportunity. Mr. Larry was a wonderful family man, cherished friend, and all-around good guy who made a difference in the many people’s lives he touched during his time on earth.

In addition to his wife Debbie Plaxico Jackson, those left to cherish his memories include two sons, Cole Jackson (Cortnie), and Tyler Jackson, one sister, Pat Flake (Tim), six brothers, Leroy Jackson (Diane), Neal Jackson (Carol), Connie Jackson (Janice), Joel Jackson (Dawn), Ted Jackson (Debbie), and Danny Jackson (Sandy), his two much adored grandchildren, Addy Kennedy and Clark Jackson, two brothers in law, Charles Plaxico (Jeanette), and Don Plaxico (Brenda), one sister in law, Kathy Davis (Clyde), and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a daughter, April Nichole, one sister, Warrine Barkley, and four brothers, Frank, Donnie, John, and R. L. Jackosn.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Chad Newby, Glen Michael, Jimmy Gunn, Mike Graves, Greg Harrell. Matt Gates, and Steven Shackelford.
