Barbara Jean Harris, a beloved resident of Jackson, MS, passed away on January 25, 2024, at the age of 75, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS.
Born on February 4, 1948, in Louisiana to Kandacy Harris, Barbara lived a life marked by love, family, and cherished moments. She is survived by her daughters Danielle Harris and Shema Harris, her sons Charles Edward Harris III, Robert Harris, Brandon Harris, London Harris, and Vince Harris. Barbara’s legacy extends through her sisters Marie Robinson, Mamie Temple, Mildrid Robinson, Laberta Hart, and Tonya Hart, as well as her brothers Robert Harris and Walter Harris.
In addition to her siblings, Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love through her 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was a devoted and caring presence in the lives of her family, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Barbara’s life was not without its share of challenges, as she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harris, Jr., and her sons Charles Harris III and London Harris. Though their physical presence is no longer with us, the memories of their time together will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved them.
Known for her vibrant spirit and zest for life, Barbara found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed fishing, relished the thrill of shopping, and took delight in collecting small what-nots that added charm to her surroundings. Her interests reflected a life well-lived, filled with experiences that brought happiness to both herself and those fortunate enough to share in her company.
As we mourn the loss of Barbara Jean Harris, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the love she shared with family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
