Carolyn Ann Tate Williams, 76

New Albany – Carolyn Ann Tate Williams, 76, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County in New Albany. She was born October 7, 1947 in New Albany to James Houston Tate and Edna Louise Jumper Tate. She was a retired factory worker, having worked over the years at Master-Bilt, Munsingwear and Hunter-Sadler.
She was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a supporter of New Haven Attendance Center.
She enjoyed reading the Bible, working word puzzles or just riding around. She was a great cook, and was known for her cracklin’ bread, her banana pudding (the cold kind), and her chocolate pies.
She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved all animals, especially her dog. She will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by a daughter, Melanie Holland of New Albany; a son, Jeremy Holland of Mantachie; a sister, Linda Potts (Mike) of Myrtle; five grandchildren: Nicholas Self, Brandon Self (Stephanie) Jamie Beth Holland, Olivia Holland Cardwell and Anna Austin; one great grandchild, Joey Grace Cardwell; and one great grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David Houston Tate; a sister, Jimmie Nell Tate Yancey; and a son, Jerry Glyn Holland, II.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., all times will be at United Funeral Service. Bro. Charlie Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Allen Tate, Perrin Roaten, Brad Eaton, Matthew Potts, Jason Jordan and David Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Self, Mike Potts and Brandon Self.
