Christopher “Chris” Thomas Adair, 50

July 9, 1973 – September 1, 2023

Christopher “Chris” Thomas Adair, 50, lifetime resident of New Albany, passed away peacefully at his home, September 1, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.

Funeral services honoring the life of Chris will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 2PM in the Sanctuary of Martin Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Cobb and Bro. Andy Russell officiating.  Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of service.  Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Union County.

Born July 9, 1973, he was the only son of the late Rita Pate Adair and Edgar “Eddie” Thomas Adair.  Chris was a 1991 graduate of W. P. Daniel High School and worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County for 28 years in the Food Service industry until his health no longer allowed.

A longtime member of Martin Baptist Church, Chris will be remembered for being active in different areas of the church.  He could always be found in the sound booth and was willing to help with any activity that was happening in the church.  Chris had a larger than life smile and showed so much love to those who knew him and even those he didn’t. One of his favorite past times included listening to Gospel music every night with his wife before they went to sleep.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Lou Ann Spoonhower Adair, who never left his side during his illness, and his “special” family, Doris “Mamaw” Gregory, Aunt Ollie and Uncle Bobby Cobb, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Pete Nelson, Aunt Betty and Uncle Neal Adair, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Bobby Williamson, Aunt Janice and Uncle Mike McConnell, a host of cousins and a very special feline, Bella Renae.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Cobb, Eddie High, John Holmes, Shane Jumper, Doug Raines, and Brian Williamson.

The family requests that any memorials in Chris’s memory be directed to Martin Baptist Church, 1344 CR 86, New Albany, MS  38652.
