Martha Emma Frazier Hitchcock, 76

December 24, 1946 – September 2, 2023

New Albany – Martha Emma Frazier Hitchcock, 76, passed away at her daughter’s home in Sarah, MS on September 2, 2023. She was born on December 24, 1946 in Tippah County to Elcue Lafayette Frazier and Avie Ethel Smith Frazier. She graduated from W.P. Daniel High School and Northeast MS Community College with a degree in nursing. She served as a register nurse for over forty years in local and regional hospitals. She was a member of Academy Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and bowling with her friends. She loved her dog, Flip Flop. She was a dearly loved mother, sister, aunt and friend, and will be missed by all who loved her.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at United Funeral Service with Bro. Earl Barron officiating. Burial will be at Academy Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Parker Giddens (Blaine); a sister, Dorothy Marie Hutcheson; four brothers, Hugh Franklin “Hank” Frazier (Sheila), Thomas Wayne Frazier (Ellen), Elmer Lamar Frazier (Janie) and Lloyd Hayse Frazier (Susan); a sister-in-law, Mavis Frazier; six nieces; two nephews and eighteen great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; two brothers, Robert Henry Frazier and William Augusta Frazier; a nephew, Clinton Frazier; and a brother-in-law, David Hutcheson.
The Northeast MS Nurse Honor Guard will conduct Honors in recognition of her years of service.
