Donald Gene Davis, 69

June 16, 1954  –  October 30, 2023

OKOLONA – Donald Gene Davis, 69, met his Creator after a sudden illness on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023. A lifelong Chickasaw Countian, Donald was born on June 16, 1954 to the late John Parker Davis and Mary Emma Little Davis. He attended Okolona Public Schools. His life work included about 30 years at Futorian Furniture Mfg. Company and he retired from the Road Crew of Chickasaw County. A patriotic American, Donald spent 22 years in the Mississippi National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and all things Ole Miss. He loved his nieces and nephews dearly and enjoyed being with his siblings as much as possible. He was a member of the Bethany Church of God of Prophecy.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 AM Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Pastor Dean Allen officiating. Burial will follow in East Chickasaw Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5PM-7PM on Wednesday, Nov. 1st and from 10 AM-service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Donald was never married but is survived by 3 sisters, Barbara Corley, Glinda Clegg, and Jackie Buskirk; a brother, Kebo Davis; many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Donald as follows: Ricky, Stan and Mark Davis, Debbie Crisp, John Glenn Davis, Kevin Davis, Daphanie Corley, Paula Warren, Danny Buskirk, Candy Boozer, Kimberly Felder, Jim Davis, John Parker Davis, and Chip Holloway; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; and his sisters-in-law, Opal Davis and Shirley Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara Corley, and 4 brothers, Chuck, John, Joe, and Jimmy Davis.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
