Earl Wayne Vaughn, 56

SHANNON – Earl Wayne Vaughn died Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at his residence in Shannon. He was 56. Earl was born November 6, 1967 to James Doyle Vaughn and Betty Townsend Vaughn in Oxford, MS. He attended several area churches during his life and was cared for by his family. He was a quiet man who never bothered anyone and kept to himself. He loved music and sweets.

A celebration of life service for Earl will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with Pastor George Pritchard and Pastor Preston Everett officiating. Sis. Earnestine Bafford will sing. Visitation will be from 12 PM noon to service time. Private burial will take place at Porter’s Memorial Gardens. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 2 PM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming and will be archived thereafter. Earl is survived by his siblings, Will Wright, Robert Vaughn, Georgia Ann Ross (Rufus), Bernice Vaughn, and Emma Vaughn; an uncle, James Townsend; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty Vaughn, and a brother, Otis Vaughn.
