Edward “Ed” Earl Mabry, 78

January 03, 1945 – November 22, 2023

Edward “Ed” Earl Mabry was born, one of four children, on January 3, 1945, to the union of the
late Curtis and Essie Mae Mabry in Nettleton, MS. On November 22, 2023, he accepted his call
to glory. He was born and raised in Nettleton, MS and later moved to Plantersville, MS, where he started school. He went for one year to Siggers High School in Shannon, MS. Then he went to George
Washington Carver High where he played basketball and became known as “Big E”. One year after finishing high school, he enlisted in the Army where he did basic training in Fort
Riley, Kansas.



After basic training he was dispatched to Vietnam for over a year.  Ed served his tour of duty, as a lineman, switchboard, & radio operator.  After his tour of duty, he went back to Fort Riley, Kansas where he was honorably discharged for nearly four years of service.

After leaving the service, he enrolled at Itawamba Junior College for auto mechanics. Ed later married the love of his life Rosemerry Cummings on August 23, 1969. Unto the union of Edward and Rosemary they were blessed to be proud parents of five beautiful daughters.

Edward “Ed” Earl Mabry accepted Christ at an early age and attended New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Later, in 1969 he joined Miracle Revival Center with late Bishop George Crawford. The name was changed to Faith, Hope, &; Charity Church where he was very active in: being a deacon,
drummer, guitar player, and teaching Sunday school & Bible class. Later, he was associated with Faith
Deliverance Apostolic Church in Pontotoc, MS with Pastor Willie Gardner.

He was a former employee at Glenns Plant in Plantersville, MS for two years. Later went to Rockwell Plant in Tupelo, MS, which later was renamed Delta International for 30 years before it closed. During
that time, he worked on the assembly line, in quality control, and as a temporary supervisor. After the closing of Delta International, he worked for Walmart in the produce department for five years. In 2009, he retired to take care of his loving and devoted wife and other family members.

Our Dad and Grandaddy was considered as a jack of all trades: a handyman, cook, mechanic, sewer, builder, basketball player; most of all a great devoted father and grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memories: five daughters, Tarsher (Demetrius)Macon of Verona, MS; Arronda Mabry of Plantersville, MS; Shana (Chris) Johnson of Shannon, MS; Robbin Mabry of Plantersville, MS; Erica Mabry of Shannon, MS. His sister Mary (Ledentry)Forster of Plantersville, MS; a brother and best friend Vurel Mabry (Irene) of Tupelo, MS; a brother-in-law, Ivory Lee Cummings of Belden, MS; a sister-in-law Marcel Ward of Bells, TN; sixteen grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Rosemerry Mabry; his parents Curtis and Essie Mae Mabry; his brother James Arthur Mabry; sister-in-law Verniece Mabry.
