Edwin Gregory Haynes, 67

February 23, 1957  –  March 3, 2024

Pine Grove Community-Edwin Gregory Haynes, 67, departed this life for his life in eternity on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at his residence in the Pine Grove Community on the Tippah/Prentiss Co line. Known by the family as Bubba, he was born on Feb. 23, l957 in Imokalee, Fla. to the late Alfred Haynes and Peggy Andrew Haynes Thacker, who survives. He attended Clewiston High School in Clewiston, Florida and spent time working as a Truck Driver. Most of his life, he was a master technician in the HVAC business. His last years were spent working for Copeland Refrigeration, Heating and Air. A major admirer of God’s creation, Bubba loved deer hunting and fishing in area lakes, streams and rivers. He was a member of the Faith Worship Center in Booneville where he loved worshiping the Lord, gospel singing and participating in all Church activities. Bubba loved his family dearly and left this world as a forgiven, saved Child of God.



A service celebrating Bubba’s life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Faith Worship Center, 418C Hwy 145 South, Booneville, MS. 38829. There will be preaching, singing and fellowship over food. Private burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time on Sunday only. Bubba is survived by his wife, Kathy Mardis Haynes, whom he married April 16, 2023; his mother, Peggy Thacker (Vern) of Shannon; a son by choice, Zachary Cawthorn (Serita) of Lexington, Tn.; 2 sisters, Vickie Holbrook and Angie Nunnelee (Billy) of both of Shannon; 1 brother, Glenn Haynes (Ambrose) of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Analeigh Cawthorn and Ellie Grace. several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his dad, Alfred, a sister, Mary Lynn Haynes Lombas and a brother, Larry Haynes.
