Elizabeth Keith, 94

May 30, 1929  –  January 27, 2024

TUPELO – A great soul, Elizabeth Keith, met her Creator and rejoined her husband and other loved ones in Heaven from her apartment at Traceway Manor, apparently transforming in her sleep. She was 94 years old. Born Mellie Elizabeth Wester on May 30, 1929 in the Furrs Community to the late Henry Wester and Ella Mae Davis Wester, Mrs. Keith lived her entire life in Lee County. She married James Cecil Keith on Oct. 29, 1949 in Dorsey and they remained sweethearts until his passing on Dec. 28, 2013. A master housewife, homemaker and caregiver, Mrs. Keith was completely devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren until her death. A fine cook (always with homegrown and homemade ingredients) and gardener, Mrs. Keith was known for great meals, big family gatherings, and a high level of fellowship. Always witty with a sharp retort and never meeting a stranger, she was known for making everyone feel at home, comfortable, and at ease. Her smile, her jovial nature and sterling personality endeared her to family, friends, and her special family at Traceway Manor. Ms. Elizabeth loved the Lord and would let you know so anytime, anywhere. She was a lifelong faithful member of the Furrs Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and kept the nursery and was much loved and respected.
