Frank Wood, 75

January 14, 1949  –  January 27, 2024

BELDEN – James Franklin “Frank” Wood, 75, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Ruth Ewing Wood. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 54 years Sandra Wood; his brothers Terry Wood (Susan) of Tupelo, and Ewing Wood (Julia); sisters, Rosemary Wood and Janice Jackson (Rodger). Frank was the father of Brent Wood (Heather), Brandy Wilson (Jason), and Brady Wood (Taylor); he was grandfather to Frankie, Olivia, Maple, Alydia, Everett, Paisley, and Asher.

Frank, known by family and others as Frankie, graduated from Belden High School in 1967 and attended IJC on a basketball scholarship. He loved family, farming, cattle, and enjoyed the outdoors as a hunter and fisherman. He worked as an over the road truck driver/dispatcher before opening his own trucking business, Frank, Inc., hauling and selling straw. Friend of many and foe to none, he was always willing to help out a neighbor in need. He and Sandra were long time members of Belden Baptist Church.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Tuesday Jan. 30, 2024 (Today) at Belden Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at Noon and continue until the service. Bro. Shane McGivney will officiate. A private family graveside will follow at Keyes Cemetery in Itawamba Co. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to be serving the family.

Pallbearers will be Frankie and Everett Wilson, Michael Wood, Justin Wood, Dennis Wood, and Phil Wood. Honorary pallbearer will be Asher Wood. Expressions of sympathies and fond memories may be made emailed to hollandfuneraldirectors@comcast.net.
