Elizabeth Stricklen, 91

January 3, 1933 – January 13, 2024

Elizabeth McCroy-Stricklen was born to the late Edward Ivin McCroy and the late Annie Lee Mabry on January 3, 1933.  Elizabeth accepted Christ at an early age.  Elizabeth attended Corinth School District. God called Elizabeth home on January 13, 2024.



On July 8, 1951, Elizabeth united in Holy Matrimony with Golda George Stricklen, and to this union three children were born: James Micheal, Annie Elizabeth, and Steven Bryant Stricklen.  She was employed at County General Hospital, Tyrone Hydraulics also known as “Dana” both for many years and later worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation from 1980, until she retired for good.

Elizabeth had many accomplishments. She was licensed as an Evangelist at Mt. Vernon Baptist of Milwaukee, WI, in 1975, under the leadership of the late Pastor Osie Mitchell. She was ordained to preach at Antioch Missionary Baptist of Corinth, MS, in 1993, under the leadership of the late Pastor Golda Stricklen, and installed as Elder and Church Mother of Foundation of Truth Christian Ministries, in 2004, being one of the founding members. Elizabeth served as Chief Financial Officer, overseer for the kitchen and hospitality committee. She was instrumental in the birthing of Kingdom Christian Center International. Elder Elizabeth was awarded the statue of Elder Emeritus, being officially retired from all official responsibilities, but continued to serve in an advisory capacity, until her health would no longer allow.

She leaves to mourn her children: Annie Elizabeth (Rejean) Shinault, Steven Bryant (Doris P.) Stricklen; Grandchildren: Nikita Trice (Carlos), James “Jimmy” Sticklen (Monica), Marlisa M. Stricklen, Miguel A. Stricklen (Lorri), Steven B. Stricklen II (Ariane), Stefanie B. Stricklen, Jasmine S. Roberson (Jason), and Raven A.S. Davis; great grandchildren: Christian Trice, Devyn Martin, Kyllie Beth Stricklen, Coryn A. Trice, Donovan Powell, Maliyah Fletcher, Chase Stricklen, C.J. Hughes, Jade Roberson, Jamieson Davis, Jayden Roberson, Minerva Stricklen, Carlos Brooks, Carmine Brooks, and Cameron Brooks; a sister, Emma Jean Rooks; seven sisters-in-law: Bernice Ross, Lillian Sticklen, Bernice Stricklen, Shirley Stricklen, Mauvie Faye McCroy, Ethel McCroy, and Levirdia McCroy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Elizabeth is preceded in death: her parents Edward Ivin McCroy and Annie Lee Mabry; her husband Golda G. Sticklen, a son James Micheal Stricklen; four brothers: Roosevelt, John, Charlie, and Ivin; two sisters Ozzie, and Lillie Mae.
