Hubert Ladelle Walls, 78

February 27, 1945  –  September 16, 2023

NETTLETON – Hubert Ladelle Walls was born in Okolona on February 27, 1945 to James Jefferson Walls and Mary Etta Walls in Okolona. He died at Sunshine Nursing Home in Pontotoc on September 16, 2023. Dale lived in this area most of his life. A character and a man who loved to have good conversation with friends and family, Dale spent 27 years of his life as owner of Walls Exxon in Okolona. He later worked in maintenance for PeopLounger’s in Nettleton and retired from Capitol Bedding where he was involved in every area of the plant. He was a longtime member of Carolina Baptist Church and later in life, was a member of Blue Spring Baptist Church. Dale loved the outdoors and fishing, a good rook game with Debbie, Roger and Margaret and watching westerns especially Gunsmoke. His favorite “PawPaw” pleasure was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he dearly loved.



A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Bubba Kennedy and Bro. Clinton Worthey officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Fellowship Church Cemetery near Hatley. Visitation will be from 4 PM-7PM Monday, 9/18/23, at the Okolona Chapel and from 10 AM-service time on Tuesday. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona Chapel is honored to serve their friends.

Dale is survived by his daughters, Lisa Dabbs of Blue Springs, Angela Parks (David) of Blue Springs, Jolie Smith (Josh) of Ingomar, Rebecca Camp (Bo) of Hatley, and Elyse Camp (Brandon) of Amory; sisters, Ruby Jean Hood of Okolona, Julie Whitehead of Nettleton, Sue Staten of Tupelo, and Margaret Fowler of Okolona; brother, Earnest Wayne Walls of Okolona; son-in-law, Rick McCollum; sisters-in-law, Judy Walls and Linda Walls; grandchildren, Levi Lawson (Brittany), Hannah Willis (Chris), Courtney Henderson(Rocky), Jake Lawson (Kelci), Madison Allison (TJ), Brittany Godwin, Kenny Godwin, Joel Smith, Blair Camp, Daltyn Ladelle Camp, EttaClaire Camp, Lilli Camp, Hank Camp, Waylon Camp, Patience McRee (David), Lee McCollum (Mackenzie), Blake McCollum; and a host of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 33 years, Debra Gosa Walls; daughter, Linda McCollum; brothers, Robert Walls and Delane Walls; sister, Linda Hood; and grandchild, Elijah Camp.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Levi Lawson, Blake McCollum, Lee McCollum, Daltyn Camp, Joel Smith, Michael Fowler, and Hank Camp.
