Jerry Cermack, 84

Tupelo- Jerry Frank Cermack, 84, died Sunday, October 15, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Henry Cermack and Patsy Smith Cermack on May 30, 1939. Shortly following his birth, they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he grew up. While at Howell High School, he met his future wife, Rita Cermack. Following their graduation, they married November 15, 1957. His career with Futorian relocated them to Tupelo. However, shortly after relocating, he opened Container Engineering Corporation which he ran for 23 years before his retirement. In Tupelo, he was a member of St. Luke United Methodist and later in life moved his membership to First Christian Church. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He was the dedicated cook in their household and enjoyed making meals and desserts. He was also a 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rita Cermack of Tupelo; one son, Kerry Cermack (Penny) of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Thomas Cermack (Nhi) of Pensacola, Florida, Bowen Cermack of Tupelo, and Sam Cermack of Jacksonville, Alabama; and one brother, Donald Cermack (Ann) of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cheryl Cermack Tolbert; and one sister, Margie Patterson.

Graveside services honoring his memory will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Tupelo Memorial Park.
