Tupelo– Jerry Dean Comstock, 76, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at his home in Tupelo. Jerry was born on March 5, 1947, to Jean Comstock and Alova Nadyne Garrison Comstock in Portland, Oregon.



On July 20, 1968, Jerry married the love of his life, Carolyn Francis Vernell Comstock, embarking on a journey that spanned over five decades. Jerry dedicated his life to serving others in various roles throughout his career. He served his country in both the United States Army National Guard and the United States Navy. He also served as a police officer, 911 dispatcher, security guard, and bank courier.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Jerry enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing in the great outdoors when his health allowed. In quieter moments, Jerry also enjoyed reading.

Above all, Jerry’s greatest source of joy was his family. A devoted family man, Jerry found immense joy in the company of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed immensely by the family he held so dear.

Jerry leaves behind his wife of over 55 years, Carolyn Comstock; three children, Jennifer Watson (Michael) of Tupelo, Bryan Comstock of Tupelo, and Larry Comstock (Nicole) of Belden; seven grandchildren, Annabelle Price of Pearl, Wesley Price (Emmy) of Plantersville, Astoria Medina (James) of Southaven, Travis Comstock and Hudson Comstock of Ellistown, Paige Chism and Samuel Comstock of Belden; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Janis Muzer (Darrell) of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Heaven Hogue; one great-grandson, Eli Hogue; and one brother, Jean Comstock.

Services honoring Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.
