John Christopher Knight, 51

September 19, 1972 – October 9, 2023

John Christopher Knight, age 51, of Amory, Mississippi, passed away on October 9, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on September 19, 1972, in Amory to loving parents Freddie and Jimmie Nell Irvin Knight.



John is survived by his sisters, Tracye Nance, her husband Brian and her children Bailey and Tanner of Tupelo, and Jennifer Craft, her husband Alex, of Foley, Alabama, his brother Anthony Knight and his children Evan, Landon, and Lindley of Shannon, a special aunt Linda Francis and her husband Buz of Amory, and his stepmom Bobbie Knight. He is also survived by a host of special friends and caregivers at Diversicare of Tupelo, as well as his beloved OWO wrestling family.

John’s life was marked by his passion for wrestling. He was an ardent fan and took immense joy in being a part of the OWO Supershow wrestling family. His dedication and love for the sport were recently recognized as he was inducted into the prestigious 2023 OWO wrestling Hall of Fame.

Beyond his wrestling enthusiasm, John had a natural gift for bringing smiles to people’s faces. He relished being the life of the party, using his humor to create memorable moments for all who knew him.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Terry Grubbs, Sr., his brother, Terry Grubbs, Jr., and his grandparents, Jimmy and Maurine Knight, and Kenneth and Christine Irvin.

A funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Church in Amory, Mississippi. Visitation will precede the service, starting at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Haughton Memorial Park.

Pallbearers for John’s final journey will be William “Buz” Francis, Michael Britt, Tony Dabbs, Terrell Moore, Michael Knight, Michael Thrasher, Chris Blaylock, and Landon Knight.

Associated Family Funeral and Cremation Center in Tupelo is honored to serve the Knight family in their time of need.

John Knight’s presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, friendship, and a deep passion for the world of wrestling that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
