Joyce Hall Beasley, 97

October 9, 1926  –  February 23, 2024

TUPELO – Joyce Hall Beasley, 97, died peacefully at home on Friday, February 23, 2024. Born October 9, 1926, to William Glenn Hall and Agnes Schilling Hall in Meridian MS, she graduated from Blue Mountain College in 1947 with a degree in English and moved to Grenada, MS to begin a career in teaching. There she met her future husband, William Moore Beasley. Following their marriage, they moved to Tupelo to begin their lifelong pursuits and begin raising a family.

Joyce was a devoted and devout member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school to children, young married couples, and senior adults. She was also very active in the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) and volunteering her time for the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels. Joyce never met a meal she didn’t like and loved traveling with her husband. She was quick to laugh, break out in a special hymn, or recite a Bible verse at any given moment. Her garden birds delighted her as did her many friends and family.

Survivors include her sister, Glynn Hall Fort of Oxford MS; daughter, Nancy Doss (Bill) of Madison, MS; son Bob Beasley (Ci) of Snowmass Village, CO; her daughter-in-law, Linda Beasley of Tupelo, MS; her grandchildren, Will Beasley (Jerusha), of Tuscaloosa, AL, Adam Beasley (Kateri), of Brooklyn, NY, Megan Beasley, of Nashville, TN, Mary Beasley of Austin, TX, Elli Beasley of Chicago, IL, Matt Doss (Sara) of Madison, MS, Lindsey Chenhall (Brent) of Madison, MS; and great-grandchildren: Aakyah, Jackson, and Lucy Beasley, Mason and James Doss, Ava Kate and Barrett Chenhall, Evah, Conlan, Liam, and Gus Gillespie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Moore Beasley; her son William Michael Beasley; her parents, William Glenn Hall and Agnes Schilling Hall; her sister Virginia Hall Bounds; and her brother Nelson Hall. The family would like to extend gratitude, love, and appreciation to Linda Horn and her wonderful caregivers who worked tirelessly and brought joy to our mother in her latter years.
