Karen Costley Bedford, 72

July 5, 1951 – November 24, 2023

MEMPHIS – Karen Ann Costley Bedford, 72, died on November 24 in Memphis, Tennessee. Karen was born on July 5, 1951, in Pueblo, Colorado to Dr. Lawson C and Georgia (Leach) Costley. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawson and Georgia Costley. Karen graduated from Tupelo High School, Class of 69, as valedictorian. She shared that title with another senior. She went to Vanderbilt University and finished her degree with a Master’s in Accounting at Memphis State University. She had a passion for dancing, cooking, and traveling. She spent a summer in Paris, France studying culinary arts. She was humble and honest and was notoriously known for being on the side of the underdog.



She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Quesenberry and Stephanie Williamson; two grandchildren, Alayna and Christian Cloyd; one sister, Marla Elmore; and one niece, Karianne Kibe; her God sister Donna Whiteside; and very close, loving friend Leroy Bedford. She also leaves behind her two 4-legged babies Kiki and Doodle whom she loved very much.

Holland Funeral Home will be handling the Graveside Service at 3 PM on January 13, 2023 at Tupelo Memorial Park Cemetery.
