Malcolm Carroll Rogers, 78

August 1, 1945 – April 6, 2024

New Albany-Malcolm Carroll Rogers, 78, departed this life on Saturday, April 6, 2024 with his family by his side. Mr. Carroll was born August 1, 1945 to Malcolm G. and Lillie Lorene Robbins Rogers. He married the love of his life, Havis Williams Rogers in 1964. He began his career in the furniture industry at Futorian in New Albany. He served as HR manager and plant manger at several furniture companies throughout his working years. He was a wonderful man, who loved his family fiercely. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who was the definition of a true outdoorsman. Mr. Carroll was a Christian and an active member of Jericho Baptist Church where he enjoyed his church family and fellowship. You often would find him reading his bible and preparing to sing a special at church. The love and devotion he gave his family will be forever remembered.
Services to honor his life will be on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 1:30 pm at Jericho Baptist Church with Bro. Marvin Robbins, Bro. Clift Jeter, and Bro. Chris McCluskey officiating. A visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at United Funeral Service and one hour at Jericho Baptist Church from 12:30 until the start of the service at 1:30. Burial will be at Ingomar Cemetery.
Those left to carry on his memories are his loving wife of 59 years, Havis Rogers, one daughter, Jan Pannell, and husband John, one sister Betty Johnson (Freddie), two sister-in-laws, Rosemary Jeter and Beth Rogers, two grandchildren, John Malcolm Pannell wife Hannah and Sallie Rakestraw, husband Brett, two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Tucker Pannell. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, David Rogers.
