Martha Nell Kiddy Jolly, 91

May 19, 1932 – October 25, 2023

Martha Nell Kiddy Jolly, a pillar of faith and a cherished member of her community, peacefully passed away on October 25, 2023, at the age of 91, at Diversicare in Amory. She was born on May 19, 1932, in Union County, Mississippi, to Verner and Opal Hudson Kiddy. Martha Nell was the devoted wife of the Reverend Richard Jolly, to whom she was married for 52 years until his passing in 2003.



Martha Nell is lovingly remembered by her sons, Phil Jolly (Susan) of Nettleton and Ricky Jolly of Ecru, her grandchildren Amanda Hall (Phillip) of Plantersville, Aleshia Dale (Johnny) of Plantersville, Alex Jolly (Kristie) of Plantersville, Allen Jolly (Jazmen) of Mooreville, and Kristian Bennett of Fulton. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Hannah-Brooke Crook (Alex), Colby Hall (Katie), Paxton Hall, Skyler Dale, Alandra Robertson (Kyle), Liam Dale, Lennon Jolly, Emilee Bennett, Braiden Bennett, Stormi Priest, and Caleb Haygood, as well as her great-great-grandchildren Abbigail Crook, Sadie Crook, Wyatt Crook, and Haiden Crook.

Martha Nell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and her siblings: Virginia Dye, Peggy Joy Hopper, and James (Jim) Kiddy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will be cherished by her family and friends.

A member of Cornerstone Apostolic Church in Ecru, Martha Nell found immense joy in her faith. She was a passionate reader of the Bible and a talented writer, known for her beautiful songs, poems, and journals. Alongside her husband, she dedicated her life to the ministry, pastoring and evangelizing for many years. Together, they served congregations at Old Myrtle Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, West Pontotoc Pentecostal Church, and Old Liberty Hill Pentecostal Church. Their commitment to spreading the message of love and salvation extended beyond the church walls; they hosted gospel radio programs on WNAU in New Albany and WSEL, as well as gospel TV programs on the Unity Broadcast TV station in Fulton and Booneville.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Cornerstone Apostolic Church in Ecru, starting at 11:00 a.m. The funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Carly Lawson and the Rev. Sammy Raper, will begin at 1:00 p.m. Martha Nell will be laid to rest at Glenfield Cemetery in New Albany.

Pallbearers honoring Martha Nell’s memory will be Johnny Dale, Skyler Dale, Paxton Hall, Phillip Hall, Colby Hall, and Allen Jolly.

Martha Nell Kiddy Jolly’s life was a beacon of faith, love, and commitment to family and God. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy will continue to inspire all those fortunate enough to have known her. As she embarks on her eternal journey in the presence of her Heavenly Father, her spirit will remain a guiding light in the hearts of her loved ones.
