Mary DeeAnn Grubbs, 43

August 30, 1980  –  October 3, 2023

Shannon-Mary DeeAnn Grubbs departed this life from her residence in Shannon on Monday, Oct. 3, 2023 after a period of declining health. She was 43. Born in Okolona on August 31, 1980 to Billy Parchman and Lynn Warren Parchman, she lived all her life in the Shannon area and attended the public schools of Shannon. DeeAnn spent many years of her working life as a machine operator at Ashley Bedding in Saltillo before becoming disabled. A sassy, independent and fun loving soul, she loved children-holding and caring for them especially family. Possibly the biggest Mississippi State fan in these parts, DeeAnn declared when her time came to “cross over”, please wrap me in Maroon and White. Her wish is being honored. She enjoyed family and friends, loving and holding children and reading. DeeAnn attended Tupelo Church of God for many years.



A service celebrating her life will be held at 3 PM Saturday, October 7, 2023 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Billy Wayne Henderson officiating and Pastor Rick is speaking. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery on CR 506 west of Shannon. Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time on Saturday only at the funeral home. DeeAnn is survived by her daughters, Katelyn and Carlie Grubbs; her mother, Lynn Warren Parchman and her father, Billy Parchman all of Shannon; 3 sisters, Jennifer Warren (Greg) of Amory, April Merrell (Nathan) of Shannon and Rebecca Williams (Chance) of Pontotoc; her nieces and nephews, Adam Parchman (Claire), Justin Chandler (Britnie), Jalyn Merrell (Hayden), Montana Edwards (Cory), Makaylie Williams, Wesley Williams, Sawyer Williams, Holden Jaggers and Jonathan Merell; several aunts, uncles, cousins and their extended families.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Justin Chandler, Adam Parchman and Jonathan Merrell and brothers in law, Nathan Merrell, Chance Williams and Greg Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Bennie Grubbs, Wesley Williams, Sawyer Williams, Holden Gray Jaggers and Tommy Edwards.
