Mary Larson, 77

January 11, 1947  –  January 20, 2024

BALDWYN – Mary Agnes Grager Larson transformed to her eternal home from NMMC on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024 after battling cancer for some time. She was 77 years old. Born in Ripon, Wisconsin on January 11, l947 to the late Henry Grager and Julianna Hajduk Grager, she attended the public schools there. She married James Robert “Jim “Larson in South Dakota on Sept. 23, l967 while he was serving his country in the Air Force. They lived much of their adult life in Wisconsin, a state she was devoted to and proud of. Her working career was first in automotive accounting. She later began a solid career as a public servant in the State of Wisconsin working for the Unemployment Agency, the Economic Support Agency, the State Highway Patrol and retired from the Workforce Development Agency. Mary grew up as an only child on a Wisconsin dairy farm and learned the values of work, family and commitment to high ideals. She and Jim were communicants of the Lutheran faith and attended Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus, Ms. The Larson’s moved to the Lee County area in 2017. Mary enjoyed quiet life as a private lady, was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles of all types, solitaire, knitting and playing cards. Naturally, she was a big sports fan of the Green Bay Packer, the Milwaukee Brewers and all Wisconsin sports teams. She was a great supporter of her husband in his Tupelo Lion’s Club activities.



Mary is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jim Larson of Baldwn; her daughter, Vicky Bowie and husband, Willie of Wisconsin; two sons, Lance Larson and Jeremy Larson of Manitowoc, Wisc.; two grandchildren, Monica Bowie (Tyler Rosenau) and Willie Bowie, Jr; a great grandchild, Dominick James Dowie-Rosenau. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

A Life Celebration will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 27, 2024, in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with her pastor officiating. A private family burial will be in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Ripon, Wisconsin in her historic family plot.
