NEMiss. News NALGW working to restore power

The powerful storm and high winds sweeping through the area have downed trees and powerlines all over the county. Earlier, the area between Hickory Flat and Potts Camp lost power, but now outages are being reported all over the county and currently within the city of New Albany.

At 6:15 local time, New Albany Lights Gas and Water (NALGW) posted on their Facebook page that they “currently have seven complete circuits that are without power from Potts Camp, Hickory Flat, myrtle, North Haven, Cotton Plant to Keownville”. There are also scattered outages in the Blue Springs area.

Crews are still assessing damage and will likely be working through the night to restore power. There’s no specific timeline for when any particular area can expect to come back online.

There’s currently another front moving through the area, but the worst of it will soon have passed over Union County moving south.
