Patricia Ann Weaver Hood, 84

May 8, 1939 – September 7, 2023

Patricia Ann Weaver Hood peacefully passed away Thursday, September 8, 2023, at her home at The Villages, Tupelo, Mississippi, among family and friends. Her joyful laughter and bright smile will be missed by all who knew her. A lifelong resident of Tupelo, Patricia was born May 8, 1939, the only child of the late Emma Lou Temple Weaver and the late Milton Goebel Weaver. A 1957 graduate of Tupelo High School, she attended Mississippi University for Women and Itawamba Junior College, where she was selected as an Indianette. She then attended The University of Mississippi and remained a loyal Rebel her entire life.

Pat, as she was known to her friends, knew the value of a strong work ethic and instilled those principles in all the young people in her life. She had a lifelong love of horses and was a member of the Magnolia Racking Horse Association, showing her beautifully gaited horses from 1967 to 1997. A member of First Baptist Church, Tupelo, since the cradle roll, Pat was a faithful member of the ‘Make-A-Difference’ Class. She retired from the Tupelo Regional Rehabilitation Center, where she worked as administrative assistant for 35 years.

A true Southern belle, Pat loved a party, lunches with friends, and Tiki, her cherished Pomeranian. She adored her family and had an incredible memory for details about past family members. Her genealogical heritage was important to her, being a member of the Mary Stuart Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and former president of the John J. Hart Chapter of The United Daughters of the Confederacy. Her paternal grandparents were the late Martha Texas Sweat Weaver and the late James Milton Weaver, former educator and legislator from Lee and Itawamba Counties. Her maternal grandparents were the late Mary Edness Garmon Temple and the late James Lawson Temple. Her great-grandparents, early settlers of Lee County, were the late Judge Littleton Temple and his wife, the late Lydia Elidiah Powell Temple.

Pat leaves behind her only child, Rochelle Weaver Tullos and her husband Jimmy of Tupelo; grandchildren James Andrew Clark, William Matthew Clark, Isaac Weaver Tullos and his wife, Shelby Hobson Tullos, and Jacob Temple Tullos; cousins, James C. “Jimmy” Harris and his wife, Sarah Bell Harris, Holly Harris Wroten and her husband, Lee, John Harris and his wife, Amy Stokes Harris, Gabrielle “Gabie” Gunter Cooper, and her husband, Rick, Lauren Hancock Patterson, and Samantha Patterson Fikes and her husband, Craig. Special care givers were Loretta Guido, Shirley Posley-Flag, Mae Patton, Tyronica Patton-Logan, Diane McCoy, Barbara Wallace, and Courtney Wallace, as well as the precious nurses and assistant nurses of Sanctuary Hospice.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services celebrating Patricia’s rich life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2023, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors, with Rev. Matt Powell officiating. The services will begin with tributes by The Daughters of the American Revolution and The United Daughters of the Confederacy. Graveside services will follow at Lee Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Clark, Matthew Clark, Isaac Tullos, Jacob Tullos, John Harris, and Linwood Landreth.
