ABERDEEN – A service celebrating the life of Shirley Ferguson Williams will be held at 2 PM Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors with private burial to follow at Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time on Sunday only at Holland Funeral Directors, which is honored to serve their friends. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 2 PM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming and will be archived thereafter.



Shirley Lovern Ferguson Williams passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 in the presence of her granddaughters and her sister. She was born in Smithville, Mississippi on December 7, 1936 to Jerell and Lee Ferguson. She lived in Alabama, Wisconsin and Georgia before coming home to Mississippi in 1968. In her adult life, she worked at Wal-Mart, the Corps of Engineers, and cleaned homes for many years. She was a caregiver to many including her in-laws, Ottie Malone, and Harold and Lottie Williams.

She married Doug Williams in 1988 and they built their dream home together on a bank of the Tombigbee River near Aberdeen. She enjoyed tending to her garden, spending time with her grandchildren, going to the beach, and visiting all kinds of casinos with her husband. She loved the Lord and attended Center Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton for many years before moving to River Bend in Aberdeen.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over three decades, Doug Williams, who died July 27, 2023; the father of her son, Bob Malone; two children, Daphine Dixon and York Hale; two brothers, Ed and Wayne, and her sister, Millie; and two grandchildren, Gage and Elizabeth Malone. 
She is survived by her son, Barrett Malone, daughter-in-law, Stacie, grandchildren Gabrielle Mansel (Will), Cody Malone (Marissa) and Mackenzie Malone, great grandchildren James Anderson Mansel, Greta Lucille Mansel, Mayla Grace Malone and Matilda Jo Malone; A daughter Shelia Sutton (George) of California; A granddaughter, Lisa Conger (Wayman) of Georgia; A brother-in-law Guy Williams (Josie), and her big sister/best friend, Dorothy Ferguson Malone.
