Ricardo Gutierrez, a beloved resident of Tupelo, passed away at the age of 51 on January 16, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born on March 28, 1972, in Mexico to Rafael Gutierrez and Sofia Maldonado, Ricardo leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a life well-lived.



Ricardo was known for his skills as a handyman, a profession that allowed him to use his hands to create and fix. He took pride in his work, leaving behind not just repaired items but a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship.

He is survived by his loving wife, Robi White Gutierrez, and their children: Pita Perkins (Zack) of Mantachie, Lali Jones (Chad) of Ecru, and Borras Gomez (Kristie) of Florence, MS. Ricardo was also a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren: Casey, Maria, Ethan, Mark, Kaylee, Maddi, Isaiah, Dez, Selene, Ilija, Addison, Aleya, and Makayla. In addition, he had the joy of knowing two great-grandchildren.

Ricardo’s family was of great importance to him, and he leaves behind a rich tapestry of relationships. He is survived by his brothers, Rafael Gutierrez, Jr., and Oscar Gutierrez, both residing in Mexico. His special friend from church, Bro. Bobby Cockrell, also held a significant place in his heart.

One of the highlights of Ricardo’s life was the special bond he shared with his grandson, Ethan. Their connection was a source of joy for both, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

A member of Apostolic Life UPCI, Ricardo found solace and community in his faith. He enjoyed collecting coins, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for history and culture. Tinkering with cars and motors was another passion, showcasing his love for mechanics and engineering.

In his leisure time, Ricardo found joy in watching action shows, with his favorite movie being “The Green Mile.” His little dog, El Enano, was a constant companion, providing companionship and unwavering loyalty.

Ricardo Gutierrez was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Gutierrez and Sofia Maldonado, and his sister, Maria DeJesus. His memory will live on through the love and laughter he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.
