Rick “PaPaw” White, 70

Rick “PaPaw” White of Mooreville, Mississippi, passed away on November 8, 2023, at The Meadows in Fulton. He was born on December 14, 1952, in Mississippi to his loving parents, James Leon White and Lottie Mae White. Rick formally worked for Lee County Road Maintenance and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his community.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Britt White, his devoted son, Shun White of Mooreville (fiance Amy Kingsley), and his cherished granddaughter, Annabelle White of Mooreville. He is also survived by his dear brother, Randy White (Sonya) of Okolona, his dedicated caregivers, Brenda Frost and Sylvia Hooten, and his special friends from B&B Concrete, who meant the world to him. Additionally, another family member, Dawn White. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Andy White, and his nephew, Brandon White.
Visitation to celebrate Rick’s life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Mantachie. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. before the funeral. Reverend Mark Tutor, Reverend Lee Sparks, David Brevard, and Reverend Tommy Winders will be officiating the service.
Associated Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Tupelo, MS is in charge of arrangements.
Rick’s memory will be carried by the following pallbearers: Michael Britt, Jackie Waddle, Evan Kingsley, Alex Kingsley, Steve Chism, Terry Hester, Greg Dickerson, and Terry Dickerson. Rick had many passions in life. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing up tractors and lawnmowers, a skill that brought both joy and utility to those around him. He loved spending peaceful hours fishing and was an active member of the Dixie Iron Club, sharing his love for the trade. At church, he was affectionately known as the “Dollar Man” for his generous practice of giving dollar bills to children to contribute to the offering.
Rick found companionship in his loyal dog, Shorty, and relished in visits to trade days and auctions, where his friendly and sociable nature made him a beloved presence. He had a knack for striking up conversations with anyone he met and never knew a stranger.
Rick “PaPaw” White touched the lives of many with his kind heart and warm spirit. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, generosity, and genuine friendship will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. May he rest in peace, and his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
