May Austin Frazier, 57

TUPELO – May Austin Frazier, 57, died at her home in Tupelo on Monday, November 6, 2023. She was born May Robbins Austin, May 7, 1966, in Natchez, MS to the late John McCabe Austin and Lee Abraham Austin. May grew up in Jackson, MS and graduated from Manhattan Academy where she was a star member of the dance team. After graduation she attended the Southeastern Louisiana University and soon married her first husband, Robert Briggs. Over the years they lived in Houston, TX, Nashville, TN, and Madison, MS. After becoming single again, May became reacquainted with Garth Frazier, a fellow high school student and they were married on December 23, 2011. They lived in Oxford, MS until 2015 when they moved to Tupelo. May was a dedicated member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, and loved to be involved in outreach ministries, especially those dedicated to directly engaging members of the community. May never met a stranger, and her genuine smile brought joy to everyone she met. For many years she was involved in Meals-On-Wheels, the St. Luke Food Pantry, and volunteered at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo. Her love for others was unbounded, and she was loved by so many.



A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Tupelo. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time on Saturday. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to serve their friends. May is survived by her husband, Garth (Garthie); beloved son, Stephen Briggs (Ashleigh) of Roswell, GA; stepson, Stuart Frazier of Oxford; sister, Mary (Cissy) Nabors of Florence, AL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother William Lane Austin.
