Rush D. Berry, 74

July 18, 1949 – February 10, 2024

Rush D. Berry was born July 18, 1949 to the loving parents of Willie “Back” Berry and Madie Townsend Berry. He dedicated his life at an early age and lived his life as a believer. Rush loved family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, and youth football. He especially enjoyed doing all of this with his cousins.

Rush transitioned into eternal rest on February 10, 2024 at his home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. and Madie Jo Berry; two children, Stevy D. Berry and Marika N. Berry; three brothers, Warner “Son”, Robert, and Billy “Tony” Berry; two sisters, Jimmie Glaspie and Carnell Carroll; father and mother-in-law, George and Thelma Townsend; and brother-in-law, Vincent Townsend.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a beautiful and loving wife of 50 years, Mary Berry; three sisters, Ada Simmons of New York, Faylean Pulliam, and Madie Powell of Pontotoc, MS; one brother, Erskin Berry (Kaye) of New York; six sisters in law, Gloria, Martha, Lori Ann (James), Brenda (Wallace), Faye (James), Lynn Darby (Jason); three brothers in law, James, Robert (Joyce), and George; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

“For this is not goodbye. We as believers will meet on the other side, so we must keep praying, keep worshiping, keep loving, and above all, keep believing.”

Viewing will be Monday, February 19, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Pontotoc Second Baptist Church. Funeral service will be Monday, February 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Pontotoc Second Baptist Church.
