Willie Joe Simmons, 85, of Pontotoc, Mississippi, transitioned on Friday, December 8, 2023.

Mr. Willie Joe Simmons, Sr., departed this world on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born November 13, 1938 to the union of Marion and Mary W. Simmons in Pontotoc, Mississippi.

He leaves to cherish his memories his two daughters; Regina Ann Brown (Kimble) and Debra Kay Simmons both of Houston, MS, two sons; Bo Simmons (Yolanda) of Verona, MS and Willie Joe Simmons, Jr. (the late Bernette) of Houlka, MS, special friend; William Edward Gates, 16 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins,  other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Marion and Mary W. Simmons, sister; Mary Louise Sistrunk, five brothers; Gaston Simmons, Harvey Lee Simmons, Chester Simmons, Eddie Simmons and George Simmons.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Services will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, 1:30 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 248 Highway 15 South, Pontotoc, MS  38863.

Burial will take place at Ross Hill Cemetery, Houston, MS
